Many thanks Jules Campbell
It's been a while...
Its been a while since my last post been so busy doing non www things like painting my house, decorating and doing a few photo shoots for friends. Its still beautiful weather here in the Top End of Australia but the build-up is just round the corner -I am not looking forward to it!
I really really want another lens but just can't afford it right now...I keep looking at the prices and hoping it'll come down - 100-400mm L series Canon sigh one day!
I have so many ideas for my photography my head is gonna pop and i can't ramble enough about how much i enjoy through the viewfinder photography. I am researching canvas printers to see if its a viable option (with postage etc) I think I've found a good company but its always scary leaving the printing to someone else..not like the darkroom days where i had complete control.
Until the next time Cheers Jules
Dana DiPasquale
I am not one for words lately...I seem to be a little tongue tied with my writing...I type away then erase it all....am pretty dang tired maybe that is it....
Anyway I do love art work by Dana DiPasquale in particular I really love the moody black and white image - 'The Shack"
The image speaks for its self so please take the time to take a look and what a bonus you can buy the work (card, canvas, framed print) with all proceeds going to charity;
"All of the proceeds for the fundraiser from May-August 2008 will be donated to the National Cancer Institute, a division of the National Institute of Health, which has provided more than 70 years of excellence in cancer research around the world."

Territory Day
Yesterday, July 1st was 'Territory Day' a day in honor of Northern Territory Australia and what a day it was!
Only a year ago or so we were the only place in Oz to have 'open' speeds on our roads, meaning that if you needed to drive 1000km journey you could do what ever speed you thought fit- 80kms, 110kms, 180kms per hour to get there. Now we are just the same as every other state in fact worse we have to stick to 100kms per hour even in rural areas and 130km speed limit. We know have dermerit points too erhh.The Top End is such a different place it deserves to be treated differently.. the speed limits suck and they haven't statistically helped anyone.
Fireworks night woohoo -we had the usual crazy cracker night thats still a very territory thing, one day a year anyone can sell fireworks to the public and for one night a year till 11pm you can pretend to be a mad "Pyrotechnician"! Every year hundreds of dogs are lost, people blow off their fingers and 100's of bush fires start but hey cool to look at! We never buy any, we don't have too all our neighbours put on a show that can be seen and heard from miles away. It's a very strange experience and probably not unlike living in a warzone for an evening. Every year some call for them to be banned...
It was a good day for our family one we will remember forever, man-ing sprinklers in case of a bush fire and keeping our terrified blue heeler safe -its always an adventure living in the Territory that is what I love about it!
Happy Territory Day! Crazy buggers!!!
